3 important questions on the draft Defence Trade Legislation Amendment Regulations 2024

All ECAG members and followers will today see an email from us requesting your help. As the Australian export control ecosystem knows, the Defence Trade Legislation Amendment Regulations (the Regulations) 2024 have just been published in draft for comment.

Comments are due 31 May.

ECAG is collating feedback and engaging with officials to ensure industry and academia views are heard. There's no time like the present to review the draft Regulations and provide your views. In particular, we are looking to hear about the practicality of the record keeping requirements for use of the exemptions, the 10A exceptions for supply to component producers and what the lapsing period for re-export of DSGL Part 1 military items should be under 10B.

All feedback provided will be anonymised, unless otherwise requested.
