About Us
The Export Controls Australia Group (ECAG) is an independent, volunteer, not-for-profit network dedicated to strengthening Australia’s sovereign capability by supporting businesses navigating export control regulations and international trade compliance—particularly within the defence, dual-use, and high-tech sectors. We serve as a trusted bridge between government and industry, providing a collaborative platform for information-sharing, capacity building, and policy dialogue.

ECAG is a neutral platform that promotes:
-
Open & Credible Information-Sharing: Free or low-cost access to export control news, training, and resources for all stakeholders.
-
Inclusive Dialogue: Forums that bring together industry, academia, and government to share perspectives and align on policy and best practices.
-
Greater Visibility: Elevating export control issues onto the national agenda and integrating Australian voices into international export control discussions.

Through these principles, ECAG aims to raise general understanding of export control frameworks and policy directions, support consistency in messaging across sectors, foster responsible participation in international research and trade, and build long-term capability and resilience across Australia’s strategic industries.
We adapt to industry needs, we are focused on a long-term approach—building credibility, fostering collaboration, and shaping the future of export controls in Australia.
